Building Homes for the Future, Today.

We’re a new generation of construction specialists, creating sustainable residential communities where modern design meets long-term environmental responsibility. Thoughtfully engineered. Beautifully built. Designed for real life.

Who We Are

Pivot is not a traditional construction company—and we’re proud of it.

We are a construction company based in Norwich, servicing the construction of residential developments across East Anglia and our mission is simple: build homes that are healthier, more energy-efficient, and more resilient than anything made by conventional standards.

We combine cutting-edge building practices, responsible material choices, and genuine craftsmanship to deliver homes that look exceptional, perform brilliantly, and leave a lighter footprint on the planet.

Our Philosophy

Sustainability isn’t an add-on—it’s the foundation.

  1. Innovation over imitation. We question everything and redesign what doesn’t work.

  2. Quality that lasts. Homes that stand the test of time, not just the first inspection.

  3. Transparency at every step. No hidden shortcuts, no compromise on integrity.

Sustainable and timber frame construction for new homes in Norfolk and East Anglia

The Team

Pivot Build was created by Craig Knights and Edward Sharples to bring together their collective experience in property, finance, design and construction to create a construction company focused on delivering quality residential developments for developers, housing associations and landlords. With a broad range of experience across the construction and development sector, and with backgrounds in finance, property and design, they approach construction from a different perspective.

Craig Knights

BSc (Hons) MRICS

Craig Knights

Craig spent nine years working in investment banking in the City of London before moving into property. He is a Chartered Surveyor and was a Partner at a regional firm of Surveyors leading the development and commercial teams.

He has a wealth of experience and knowledge dealing with planning, site acquisition, viability and funding with large residential schemes, city centre developments and commercial projects.

Craig has an excellent relationship with many local, regional and national consultants and sub-contractors to ensure the best team is selected for each project.

Edward Sharples

BA (Hons) BArch ARB RIBA

Edward Sharples

Ed is a qualified architect and, having designed and managed a range of residential, leisure, cultural and historic projects, moved into consultancy focusing on design, viability and development finance.

Here Ed spent 3 years working with HNW individuals, family offices and debt funders in London to structure the funding for third party developers, and structuring development teams to suit individual development opportunities.

From there, he set up a development management, construction management and architectural consultancy, managing the design,  construction and the whole cycle development process of multiple residential developments on behalf of his clients. Projects have ranged from single units to large blocks of town centre apartments, with a focus on design quality and financial viability.

What makes us different?

1. Sustainability Built In

We design homes from the ground up with energy efficiency, low-impact materials, and smart systems that lower running costs. Think high-performance insulation, solar integration, efficient water systems, and healthier indoor environments.

2. Smarter Construction Technology

From digital modelling to precision off-site fabrication, we use modern methods that reduce waste, increase accuracy, and speed up build times—all without sacrificing quality.

3. Materials That Matter

We choose materials based on durability, performance, and environmental impact.
Timber from sustainable sources, low-carbon concrete alternatives, recyclable products, and non-toxic finishes are standard—never upgrades.

4. Homes for Real Living

Our developments focus on comfort, practicality, and long-term value. Natural light, flexible spaces, and efficient layouts come first. Sustainability shouldn’t be complicated—it should feel natural.

5. People Over Projects

We work closely with developers, housing associations, homeowners, designers, and communities to build places that enhance wellbeing and foster connection. Human-centred construction is our baseline, not a buzzword.
